Background, not the main act
When people search for “lofi background”, they usually want music that stays behind what they’re doing: reading, coding, streaming to chat, or editing a video. It’s the same idea as a music bed in film — an underlayer beneath dialogue.
What makes a Soft Bed soft
On this site, Soft Beds are scored from real audio features: low energy, calm attacks, steady tempo, and high instrumentalness. Vocals (the Memories EP and Please Hold Me) are left out so the beds stay instrumental underlayers.
